Infrared LEDs help make sharp videos at night
The rear camera surrounds the four Infrared LEDs. It provides clear recording for low light conditions and night vision. The Infrared LEDs turns on when low light conditions are detected to give clear image recording. However if there is already street lights present these LEDs won’t make much of a difference in my opinion.
Don’t lose any important moments/evidence
In case of any impact the videos are marked for keeping by the built-in G-sensor, ensuring the footage is not overwritten by the camera’s loop recording feature. The emergency button allows activation of emergency recording for situations which occur outside the car.
This feature lets you take photos while recording videos during an accident by removing the camera from the vehicle to capture collision damage on the spot. Which helps in reporting accidents to police or insurance companies. To me this is a great feature and should be on a lot more of the current dashboard cameras.
The camera’s GPS receiver helps to locate where you are. It can also log GPS coordinates, time and date into the footage the camera generates. When it is combined with Transcends DrivePro Toolbox on your computer, you can see the entire journey with the help of GPS coordinates, date, time and speeds. The only downside to having the GPS on, as I’ve stressed in numerous other reviews is this; The GPS monitors the speed, so if you had an accident and you were slightly breaking the limit, this could go against you; even if technically it wasn’t really your fault (just something to bare in mind).
- Includes wireless connectivity.
- Easy to install and operate.
- Share videos whenever needed on your mobile devices.
- The parking mode is not supported.
- It loses the date occasionally because the internal battery is inadequate.
Overall the DrivePro 520 is an ideal camera that has a 2.4” screen along with Wi-Fi which helps in operating through smart phones or tablets wirelessly. It is extremely easy to install and there are adequate power cables to fit it. Its overall build quality is solid and allows the driver to keep an eye on their passengers as well as the road.
