Rexing V1 Dashboard Camera Review

The Rexing V1 Dashboard Camera has broken new ground with more advanced features than any dash cam at its price point.

Both the high-def video and audio are superb during both the day and night operation.

At this writing, the Rexing V1 is the most affordable dashcam available, at less than $100, equipped with many high-end features that typically cost up to four times much.

Here is some of the features before we head off into the main features –

  • Time & date stamp on video
  • Video Format: MOV
  • Supports up to 32GB SDHC cards
  • Aperture: F=2.8

Bragging a 4.5 plus star rating on Amazon, the Rexing V1 definitely deserves consideration for anyone in the market for a dashcam.

Here is an overview of the Rexing V1’s outstanding features:

● Wedge shape that allows the camera to be mounted right behind the rear-view mirror (very similar to the A118/B40)
● Convenient installation with adhesive mount.
● Records in 1080p with a 6-layer 170-degree wide-angle glass lens.
● Motion sensor with Night Vision.
● Large 2.7” screen for clear viewing of recordings.
● Discreet Design.
● Automatic loop recording automatically overwrites the oldest video file with new footage.
● Accident Auto-Detection Feature that locks crash data into memory.

Installation and Operation

One of the reason consumers like the V1 dashcam so much is due to its no-hassle installation.

The unit mounts directly, and unobtrusively, behind the rear view mirror with a pre-installed 3M adhesive mounting system, requiring a simple peel-and-press application.

Then just plug the camera into a power jack and it’s ready to go.

Drawbacks

While a top-of-the-line unit, the Rexing V1 dashcam does have a couple of flaws. Some users have reported a slight “buzzing” on a recording during playback, but this can usually be alleviated by plugging the unit directly into a power source, and not into a splitter.

Because the dashcam body is made of plastic some users, typically in southern states where the temperature inside a closed vehicle can exceed 120 degrees Fahrenheit in the summer, have experienced some melting of the plastic.

However, this would be a problem with any dashcam made out of plastic that was left on a glass window in the hot sun.

Conclusion

Overall the Rexing V1 dashcam is a great choice and value for the money, and one of the best high-definition dashcams on the market at any price with many features found only in higher-priced models.
